I was having a sleep in and just felt weird, like something was about to happen. I jumped out of bed and my waters broke, was like a trickle! Wasn't sure what had happened so dashed out to the kitchen to tell DH and as I was telling him it kept coming! I knew then

DD1 my waters broke around 7.30am. I was drifiting in and out of sleep with mild period type pain and I felt a pop. I raced out of bed making it to the ensuite just in time She was born at 3.10pm (posterior labour)

DD2 my waters broke just after 1pm while I was doing the vacuuming and once again, I made it to the ensuite tiles just in time! Labour didn't officially start until 3.45pm (only a couple of small contractions until then). She was born at 4.35 pm . Active labour was recorded as 37 minutes!

I was stretching, watching sopranos, it was Christmas night and I heard a pop! I ran to the bathroom and it literally gushed, like a bucket of water being poured out. I stood in the shower saturated! They continued to drip until dd was born 22hours later (with her hands near her head and my midwife reckons she popped them lol).

I had my whole extended family over for dinner for my birthday 7 days before my due date - cooked my a feast with all my nesting urges.

Said goodbye to everyone and decided to leave the bomb site of a kitchen until morning and went to bed absolutely exhausted - rolled over to get comfy and I started leaking!! Ran to the bathroom and sat there with it tricking out for 10 minutes.

I was so disappointed that they told me to come in and get checked because I was so very tired and ready for bed!! Lol

I got up to grab a glass of milk for heartburn at 11.50pm. Suddenly had a feeling id wet myself. No pop or pressure. Already had pressure as DS was very engaged. Contractions started bang on midnight. Only had the one trickle, coz DS head blocked it, and midwife had to position him so my waters could leak later in hospital. Had him at 1.10pm, 13hrs from start to finish. He was 39w 3days.

I was in full nesting mode, Peanutter style. I was sitting on my little exercise step and had just finished re-alphabetising our bookshelves. I turned around and asked DH to help me up. He did, and my waters broke.

    It was 5.40pm.

DS1 arrived at 12.13am three days later (ie: approx 78 hours) after 1 day prelabour, and over 2 days labour.

I woke up at 2:30amish and went to the toilet and when it seemed like I was peeing forever I realised my waters had broken but it was more a trickle and more came out with the contractions. DS was born by c/section at 9:30pm that same night. Like others have said, I didn't feel a pop or pressure. The midwives at the hospital (went up the first time at 7:30am) didn't believe me until they tested it - not sure what they thought I was leaking

Just after midnight on the couch, where I'd set up camp. Trickled until the next morning, so I slept on a towel.

I was 40+6 and due to be induced the next day, so the threat must have worked!

I think it's pretty rare to actually hear a pop.

Also, I've heard that if your labour starts with your waters breaking, your more likely to have a posterior babe on board. In an anterior labour, the waters dont generally break until 8cms or during birth.

    Was true for me.

DD1 was posterior - Labour started with waters breaking.

DD2 was anterior - I asked for membranes to be ruptured at 10cm.

Ds2 was face up- is that posterior? And i had almost no water with him. induced 2weeks early by popping the waters. Dd i had to keep stopping nurse from popping them during labour. wanted everything done as natural as possible, water broke just before we got to the ring of fire lol
