My waters broke with DS at 6pm when I was 37w4d (it was a big surprise!). I was doing a wee on the toilet, then just after I stopped I felt more liquid coming out. I realised straight away what it was, lol. Labour started 6 hours later at midnight. Then 9 hours later DS arrived.

With DD2 my waters didn't break until I pushed her head out. I wonder if that counts as being born in the caul if she was in the sack until her head was out?

I didn't hear a pop, but I felt a mild rupture/popping. Not pressure, or anything though. I thought I'd wet myself, until I realised:-

    (a) I don't wet myself ...
    (b) I didn't need to go to the toilet ...
    (c) I was 39 weeks 2 days pregnant, so it was *probably* that!!

    DS1 was a little posterior.

6am Sound a sleep in bed. I thought I hear dd1 yell out. I jumped out of bed, felt the hugest pop, waters going everywhere, hand holding my hoohaa trying to stop leaking as I run to dd room saying 'shhh it's ok' just to find she is sound asleep.

My mum thought Dd never really called out.

Cx didn't start for another 3hrs dd was born 2hrs after that.

Waters POP and explode all over DH. It was a Homebirth and I was sitting on the edge of the bed. DH almost fell through the sliding door it scared him so much. It all happened as ds head came out. 10min labour. But a lot happen in that 10mins lol.

When my mum went into labour with me, we hit almost every stereotype there is Her waters broke in the middle of the night, all over the bed (and my dad who slept through it ). She thought she'd wet the bed!

Waters breaking was not the first sign for me, I had contractions first for both girls.

DD1 I was on all fours in the lounge, POP then gush... Ekkk lucky I was wearing a maternity pad and moved onto the floorboards
    She arrived 20min later.

DD2 on all fours on the hospital bed, arrived 8min later.

With DS1 they broke whilst in labour.

With DS2, I woke at 4am to a strange sensation, and a little trickle. Thought it might be my water so jumped out of bed and did a mad dash to the ensuite where my waters gushed all over the floor. I was stoked I made it to the ensuite and I didn't ruin our brand new carpet or our brand new mattress
