i was induced due to hindwater break so had the syntocin drip at around 9am and it was like being hit by a freight train with in 2 hrs, i had pethidine and an epidural because it was so intense, but it made me relax and dialate quicker, you dont have to have an epidural it's all up to you, but you do need constant monitoring so moving around is a little tricky but not impossible, hope this helps.
