What LimeSlice said! Jasmine oil is also a highly beneficial oil during labour as it stimulates contractions - as does clary sage. Neither oil should be used during pregnancy though for that reason.

I made my own blend for labour using sweet almond as a base - with jasmine, rose otto, neroli, sandalwood, lavender, clary sage, geranium, palmarosa, ylang ylang, calendula and possibly mandarin and patchouli - I can never remember my specific blends unfortunately but I'm sure there was a citrus note in there as well. It sounds rather overbearing but actually was a really nicely balanced blend. Although usually less is more when blending, sometimes more can be less if the right balance of top, middle and bottom notes is struck.

But if you are not into scented oils sweet almond should be fine, it is a safe oil to use on newborns but if you are concerned about allergies then olive oil is the better choice.
