    Moon phases and your babies.

I was just doing a bit of reading to take my mind off things about moon phases in relation to conception and birth, some of it is really interesting. Way back when, a pregnancy was considered to be 10 lunar months.

My pregnancy with DD was exactly 10 lunar months. She was conceived on a full moon and born 3 hours after my due date, on a full moon.

You can google dates etc...anyone else have full moon babies? Where was the moon at when you conceived and gave birth?

    Wow that is really interesting!

I wish I knew exactly when I conceived DD so I could find out.

DD1 would have been conceived about 10 days before a full moon and born about 3 days after one.
DD2 was conceived about 4 days after a full moon and born around a week before.

Where the moon was in relation to your own birth (not the astrological sign but the astronomy side of things) has an impact on things such as menstrual cycles and fertility. So PZ you may yourself have been a full moon baby.

Crazy - I was born around the full moon, and both my daughters were conceived and born within a day of a full moon. My DS wasn't though.

So I read this morning and have spent a while researching my girls.
DD1 was conceived and born on a first quarter moon, DD2 was conceived and born on a full moon. Which got me thinking, and after a bit of research sprout was conceived on last quarter, and last quarter of this month (which fits with sprouts due date) is the 23rd... Now I just have to wait and see if sprout follows suit. Either that or its a full moon tonight, or the next after that is the 8th of feb, and Im not so sure I can wait for that date!!

So I may only have one on a full moon, but I was a little surprised to see that both girls matched up to the moon phases in their own way!

Just worked mine out (thank god for fertility friend! Lol!)

DD was conceived halfway between a first quarter moon, and a full moon, and born halfway between a new moon and first quarter moon

    Whatever that means! Lol

I remembered this thread because I was just reading back through my pregnancy journal and noticed I conceived the week of a full moon. Not sure if it was on the full moon but that was cycle day 12 for me so pretty close. My baby is due in a full moon week- next Friday the 10th! I wonder if she will come on the full moon day

Wow interesting! I just checked back and the full moon when baby was conceived was in Scorpio. Scorpio incidentally is my moon sign but not sure if that's relevant in terms of conception...
