Bloody Shows - how long till something happens now??? - Help Freaking out..!!

    Morning all,

Ok so had rough night sleep, anyway at about 5am when got out of bed, ‘cos I thought I was leaking stuff go to toilet and notice a watery bloody show on knickers.

I can still feel slow leakage so have put a pad on just to keep track of things, yet I want to know how long did it take for you all who have gone naturally after a bloody show to start labour? Or how long until you gave birth?

I know we are all different but I have some last minute things I want to get done and what a rough time line. I know to go to hospital when pain really kicks in but just wondering…

This is baby no: 4 and have never gone on own or early (by 1 day) so I wouldn’t have a clue what to expect, or do…

    Cheers
    Sarah

With DS1 i went to bed on the sat night with tiny tiny cramps. Woke about 2am and they were still there but stronger, went to the toilet and had a 'show'. By that stage i had pretty strong contractions. I had a 'show' but not continual bleeding after that. I'd make a phone call to your hospital and see what they suggest.

Good luck and hopefully you'll be holding your little on soon

When I have a show things are usually happening. However I think it can be a week until anything begins (although I think this is the extreme )

You will know what to do, just try and relax and let your body tell you what is going on

The one time i have gone naturally i had my show at 6am, contractions slowly built up throughout the day, waters broke at 6.15pm and bubs was born at 9.53pm the same day. This was 10 days before my EDD.

When i rang the hospital to say i'd had a show they said i could go anytime from that day til 2 weeks later....which was very disheartening - luckily for me that wasnt the case.
    Everyone is different !

Goodluck - i hope its soon for you !

Thank you all for you help.

Really a week - 2 gee that is some depressing news. I hope I am not like that...

Pains are getting stronger now but still about 15-20minutes apart. still slowly leaking bad smelly stuff.

Called the hospital to let them know what was happening, they said to call back if/when I need them which was lovely, but the leakage she think might be a hind water... I thought there was only amnitic fluid/water, that would explain while I feel extra heavy I've calling 2 lots of water... lol

I've just finished folding a pile of clothes, and now quickly jumping in shower and dressing kids so I can go to shops and grab a few things. Was ment to do it yesterday but everything was still closed.

    Will keep you all posted...

Sounds promising! Hind waters come fromt he top of the uterus rather than the botton near the cervix. Hind waters leak slowly and can seal themselves back up where as a ruptured membrane is a gush and won't seal up again.

    Good luck

    Mine was 2 weeks later

However, mine was only a slight show and there was nothing "leaking" about it - so yours sounds promising.

I didn't leak one drop until I hit transition and my waters broke...

    Hey ladies,

Still stonge pains, again nothing regular about them. Still a little big of bloody show, but other wise, I don't feel like I am leaking ATM. So it's all just a waiting game.

Got lot of laundry to get to done, which will hopefully help and bring bubs on more. Don't really want to go to hospital even for a check up until later this afternoon, then DH can't finishes the job he is at today. and I can have baby later, he can come home and sleep then go to work next morning. Well that is my plan, but not sure if I have made bubs away of it yet...

Dedicated Doula Gillian:Relax your jaw, drop your shoulders, relax your buttocks and wiggle your toes.
I have not hear that before but I like it esp. about the toes... Does wriggling toes help or it that just to take mind of the pain.

You might want to check with your mw/Dr but if your having strong, niggly pains, then you might be able to take some panadol or even panadol forte to help!

Also Sarah, when I went into labour - I only had "niggly" pains as well and 3 hours later felt like it was labour - DD was born 15 minutes after that.

Sometimes it's good just to get checked out - just in case

Sounds good Sarah. As the others have said try stay rested and relaxed and keep an eye on the colour of the leak.

If your contractions are still not 'regular' in that they're not 5 mins evenly apart, but they're strong and frequent (like one, then one 2 mins later, then one 6 mins later, then one 3 mins later) that is probably when I'd be making sure the babysitter was over and my ride to hospital was close by. That's just from my experience though, and all labours and babies are so different!

All the best with a wonderful birth, either today or down the track. xo

Nelle: A GF of mine said the same thing about they can be real contraction but not have a regular time.

Why can't there just be a set rules like EDD is when you will deliever not possible around that time. The labour will go like this etc.... You wont have to wait and guess about everything... If you have already had a baby it will follow the same patten, not decided to come early and natural...

Pains are stronge still there but all different times now. I am having to stop what am doing to think right just breath and let everything go lose.

I've got the runs TMI and some plug I would assume, it's yellowish with a tinge of red to it.

SammyRo The midwife said I could take pandol, yet it hasn't helped. I want an epdurial...

Will be going along this afternoon to get check out. I have to finish tidying up everything here GF will be over with her daughter to stay the night with kids, or just have dinner with them while we go get check out. DS1 has a birthday party to go to @ 2pm, which I will drop him off at and a GF will pick him back up, and bring him home.
I have almost finished packing bag just a few extra things to throw in and am done.
