Hmmm depends. Mine broke and were really meconium stained, and my middie didn't even seem the least bit concerned. I was already 7-8cm dilated though - so that might have been why.
Always pays to ring and let them know whats going on though.
thanks, nothing is happening now, just thinking ahead, I want to stay home as long as possible this time around, but last time my waters broke and they told me to go in, when I got to the hospital they found meconium stained, but bubs was fine, and all their panick just gave me stress, when really there was no need for it, she was fine the whole time and came out perfect
My waters were miconium stained all three times. The first time my baby was in distress, and needed to be resusitated after she was born. The other two times, nothing occurred - just nice quick "easy" births.
I wouldn't risk not going straight in, because you just never know... Odds are you will probably not have anything to worry about, but there is always a chance that you might.
#2 I had miconium. I waited half hour and changed a pad to double check it was miconium before I rang hospital.
But would definetly not delay too long before ringing them.
Bubs wasn't distressed, just a week late and I think taking her first dump. Possibly a reaction to me working ard to get her out all that day. The midwives are able to tell you if it is a new stain or old stain, mine was new, it had occured very recently so bubs had not been wallowing in it for long, I think the big concern is if it happended some time before the waters rupture.
