Soph, have you read the articles on the main site about induction & natural induction methods? I plan on starting the natural induction methods as soon as I hit 38 weeks but there are some that I would wait until 40 weeks to try. Acupuncture is supposed to be incredible and really effective. Bowen massage as well.

I guess it depends on the hospital or OB as far as how long they will let you go over. With Matilda I was 10 days over before they even started discussing what to do now. I was happy with that as well. At 14 days they began monitoring me where I had to go in & check that she was all good using fetal monitoring. At 16 days I was induced. I could have asked for a few more days but I felt like I was pushing it already.

Your options are to start with natural induction methods, to ask to be monitored if you are concerned at all, to request an u/s if you want, and to not be induced if that is your choice as well. I personally will be trying everything I can before I resort to being induced this time around, but that is my choice as well. I may just have what DH calls a "slow cooker" ... some gestational times are 38 weeks and some are 42.... It all depends on bub & your cycle so to me I'm happy to hit 42 weeks and then start thinking about it.
