    In pain.. advice needed!!

Hi, I'm hoping someone can offer some advice....

I am pretty sure I am in early labour.. I have been losing my mucus plug all day and have quite a sore lower back and a bit period painy!!

My problem is that I am extremely sore in my pubic area, it feels very swollen and bruised and hurts especially when i get up from lying down or a sitting position to the point where I can't walk!! Around my groin is fine and I have no pain in my pelvis... just the front bit!! I'm hoping that this is a normal occurence!!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to ease the pain, or reduce the swelling i'm feeling i.e. - Cold packs.. heat packs... panadol!! I haven't tried anything at this point cause I'm not sure which way to go!!

Any advice would be more than welcome!!

    Thanks and sorry about TMI!!

Sounds promising (sorry about the pain though) I would take some panadol and maybe have a shower or a bath and see if that helps.

Leeloo - the pain you're describing sounds like an unstable pelvis - ice is best for that particular pain but you might find that heat packs work better for other labour pain. If you have a fitball, try bouncing on that (but not too vigorously - don't wear yourself out). You could also ring the hospital and ask their advice.
