can i get a S & S done if im booked in for an induction?

my induction is booked for 38 weeks (diabetes and other issues) can i request an s & s to be done at 37 and then again at say 37/4? 37 is technically term, and i know dates can be off but with an induction at 38 i'd like to try everything to get this little guy out beforehand.
any advice welcomed with big wide open arms

Personally, I owuld definately be asking and persisting on it, maybe at 37+3 then again at 37+6, and trying everything else humanly possible and reccommended for natural induction in between!! I think it would be better than induction and if it all works, all the better for you and baby. But they can or will only do it if your cervix is favourable, I think. Good luck hun.

I can't see why not. Your cervix needs to be ready though, maybe try a few natural methods beforehand?

I had to be induced with DS and they offered a S & S if my cervix was favourable but unfortunately it wasn't (this meant that my induction was a very long, painful process but that is a whole other story).

EPO is the best suggestion I can think of to help things along. Also nipple stimulation but if you have diabetes, they have probably asked you to express everyday (if they haven't, look into it because it might be helpful to your baby when he was here). I found expressing helped things along too - both these things worked well in my last pregnancy - a little too well since I was booked for c/section.

Good luck. I hope your little man makes his appearance before you need to be induced.

Sex, walking, climbing stairs, pineapple (only fresh), accupuncture/accupressure, nipple stimulation, raspberry leaf tea, massage, bumpy car rides, eating spicy foods, visualising baby decending and being born, aromatherapy (certain oils can help relax and prepare the body)

There is no reason why you can't have a S&S

And walk, get gravity working on your cervix

Although me, I found walking about as easy as sex in those last couple of weeks - not very

ETA - oh, and second the acupuncture. Three sessions. And pineapple just blistered my mouth
