I had active drug-free labour for approx 7 hours, followed by emergency c/s. The fact that she was posterior was only a partial factor in the c/s - I had pretty severe PSD and turning with forceps made it likely that I'd end up on crutches. During labour, DD's heart rate kept dropping low and taking too long to come back up so they had concerns for her safety too... turns out she had a knot in her cord so a vaginal delivery would have been out of the question after all.
