Pre labour

I was just wondering if the labours you experienced pre-labour with compared to the ones you didn't were faster?

My sister had her second last sat with about 3 days of pre-labour before hand and his head appeared between her legs in about 35mins with minimal effort.

I have had some significant pre-labour with this one my second and am just looking for some comparing stories.

Ooh that's a tough one to answer. If you asked me I would have said I didn't have any pre-labour either time. But with number 2 I had a S&S at my last appointment and my ob said she could feel me contracting while she was doing it and I had no idea so I guess I did have some pre-labour (this was 4 days before DD2 was born).
So I guess my point is there would be a difference between pre-labour you are aware of and pre-labour you are not aware of so it is hard to judge just how much pre-labour occured.
BTW DD2 was born in 4.5 hours, not sure if that means extended pre-labour (at least 4 days) and quick labour?? Maybe? Maybe not?

I didn't particularly have pre-labour with DD1 and had an induction with very long labour.

With DD2 I had heaps of very strong pre-labour from about 36 weeks. DD2 born within minutes of established labour at 41+2

I had pre labour from 35 weeks with my 3rd and when i went into established labour at scan dates of 39w 4 days my baby was not engaged at all ... i waited 3 days with on and off labour before i spontanously broke waters and delivered 3 hrs later .

I had two weeks of very noticeable pre-labouring at night, and it was 6 hours from first niggle to babe in arms when it all happened.

I've had a fair bit of prelabour with babies 3-5, and pretty short active labour. A few weeks of cramping, aching, etc, which gradually moved into erratic contractions, which slowly became the "real thing". Active labour was 1.5-2hr with most of them.

No 'pre-labour' prior to birth date with #1 - but then he was 18 hours, the first 10hours was what would be considered "pre-labour".
DD I had 4 or 5 round of 6-8 hours of contractions "pre-labour" and she was born in 2hr50m from first contraction.
FWIW my mum's third she has "pre-labour" for weeks and my brother was born 38mins from waters breaking.

I know every labour is different.

I guess I was just looking for some hope. My last labour was 18.5 hours long and I didn't have any pre-labour but with this one I have and I have no idea what to expect as my son was posterior and stuck on a cervical lip so that's why it was soo long.

M+w=peanut, have you had your Bub? What was your experience? All my babies have gotten faster, 3 had some pre-labour 2.5 hrs, 4 was about 5 weeks of pre-labour 1hr 50mins, and now 5 I want it to last longer so I can have pain relief!!!
