Something positive for GC mums (hopefully). These midwives attend home birth as well so if they gain public hospital access they would be able to continue to care for transfered mums I'm guessing?
Sharon (the midwife in the story) was my beautiful midwife at both my births when she worked at the Gold Coast Birth Centre. My DD1 wouldn't be here if it wasn't for her. She's wonderful. I hope that it all works out for them.
I hope it works out for them too Mad Scientist. How good would it be for almost everyone to be able to access Continuity of care if they want it. One of the other Midwives in the group Maria (also a former Birth centre mw) is the MIL of the student mid I had follow me through with DS.
Maria looked after me post DD1's birth. She's awesome too!! I think it's wonderful. There's nothing better than having someone with you through the whole journey. I was lucky enough to get it through the birth centre but for everyone to have the opportunity would be so fantastic.
