I took the tea form and I liked it too. 12 - 15 tablets sounds excessive to me. I would try another brand.
My Ob also said there was no real proof, but it wouldn't hurt. He said the same thing about acupuncture. I did both and from my first contractions to holding my baby was 9 and a half hours. Not too bad considering it was essentially my first labour; my first was a c/s. I will definitely take the tea again next time, I think it did something.

My midwife recommended the tablets as they're more concentrated, and to take the tea you need to drink LOADS of it each day - ok if you like herbal teas I guess and want to be running to the loo even more than we already are in 3rd tri

She said that the women they support who take the tablets anecdotally have shorter and more efficient labours than those who don't - so can't be any harm really.

I have just started taking them, yesterday. I bought the Blackmores brand, as that was all I could find, mind you, I didn't look in a health food shp, just Coles, Woolies and the chemist. The ones I have cost about $7 per bottle and hav about 80 tablets in them. The bottle says to take 3 tablets with meals, 4-5 times a day, so that makes it 12-15 tablets a day. I worked it out to cost me about $10 a week, and even thought they taste like cr@p, I figure if it's going to help me, then I don't care. If I happen to come across any others that are stronger, therfore you don't have to take as many, I'll take them.

I haven't ad any BH contractions yet, that I know of. Come on bubba, can't wait to meet you!!
