I took my regular undies and a pair of grannies that were firm around my belly. I didn't have a c/s but I didn't like the jelly feeling of my newly empty but still large belly. So I'd put the grannies over my regular undies and went from there. I think the size I bought was an 18, I'm normally a 12-14, and they fit perfectly.
I took granny undies. If you have really tight ones with an enormous pad inside it might be quite uncomfortable after just giving birth especially if you are quite sore down there. Id also take black ones if your planning on keeping them after if you buy normal ones.
Thankyou all so much for ur replies!!! Has definitely helped me.
From all ur answers I have decided to look for some full brief style black knickers, as well as some of the cheapie normal hipster ones i normally wear.
I'll have to be a bit weary when wearing the full briefs, a lot of my pants sit quite low.. wld not be a good look having big knickers on show!
I wld love to be able to wear boy legs, but ive never been able too! For some reason they always ride up my bottom and are really uncomfortable! I am normally size 10 but i think the problem is my thighs are a little big and they just dont sit right on them. Its so frustrating cos they wld be great at holding the maternity pads in! My dh also finds them very sexy and is always picking them out for me at shops to buy.. ive always gotta tell him that they definitely wont look sexy on me when my bottom gobbles them up!
Grub im not sure about the whole mens jocks thing either! Im not really swollen and puffy yet, but im sure they wld be super comfy after giving birth!! So do u and dh share does that mean??
I wont bother getting any of the big tight knickers that my MIL has been telling me i have to get, she actually bought me some size 14 ones and i thought oh yeah these will be alright since im size 12 at the moment, but OMG i cldnt even get them on! It was the biggest struggle ever! and really uncomfortable.
Oh and from what some of u have said.. i will definitely be bringing my own pads to the hospital.. theres sound awful!!
i used to just get one size bigger than what i normally fit in pre-pregnancy. this time around, i just wore cheap Big W brand undies and they were okay. don't really think undies would help too much in the uterus reduction though.....that comes down more to breastfeeding and stuff. but all the best with everything!!
