For those that have tried either the tea or the tablets did you find that it had any impact on your labouring or even your recovery? I have been taking the tablets everyday since about 33 weeks, I figured it couldn't do any harm even if it doesn't work
I think it really helped a lot.
I had a relatively fast labour for a first timer (6.5 hours), and really strong, effective contractions. At no point did my contractions slow, stop etc, and I was induced so was rapt to have avod the 'cascade' of interventions.
I drankthe tea, but I also had my naturopath mae up a herbal that I took daily from 34 weeks
I asked my midwife about RL and she said the women that have used it in their group practice generally have shorter and more efficient labours. She recommended taking the tablets - apparently for the tea to be effective you have to drinks gallons each day, the tabs are more concentrated, but if you love herbal tea - give it a go!
She said if I haven't started to get tightenings or BH by about 30-33 weeks to start then, but to start about 35-36 weeks if I am already experiencing them.
Lolly
Well i only took the tablets for a week and not a full dose. I managed to avoid a c-section with a pre-term baby much to my ob's suprise. I had a great recovery as well. I was induced but progressed quite well and had an uneventful birth.
Not sure if it helped but will no doubt try again it anyway.
Well ladies not too long and I will be finding out for myself just how effective it is, the main thing I am taking it for is the recovery because last time I haemorraghed(sp) a bit, so fingers crossed
I took RLT (tea leaves) from 35wks pg and had lots of prelabour pains 2-3wks before it all happened and had effective contractions 5mins apart from the very beginning.....9hr labour. quick for a first baby. I really think it helps and will take it again for number 2.
I saw my midwife about RLT the other day, and she said I shouldn't take it until 36 wks as it stimulates labour in a small percentage of women. She also said that it takes about 2 weeks to take effect in most cases.
Another believer here, I took it with both my pregnancies, tablet and tea form. Tablets first from about the 28 week mark, then from about the 30-34 week mark, both. Started only have 2 cups of tea a day, then up to as much as I wanted.
Well you can see from my sign. that both labours were quick, and DD was born at 39 weeks, DS at 38 weeks.
So would definitely do it again, not that we are having more kids, but YKWIM.
You must let us know how you go along the way, and of course once you've had bubs. Good luck and here's hoping you have a speedy enjoyable birth.
My first labour was only about 7 hours, so even half that would suit me lol I will definately let you's know how it worked out for me, like I said it really can't hurt to try, I just wish she would hurry up and arrive already
Yeah you can pick them up from the supermarkets now 2, blackmores is a popular one. But they are much cheaper at the discount pharmacies. Each brand dosage will be different, so best to check the label on the bottle
