    Wow!
A question...if she was more upright in her posistion would it have helped? Cause she was kinda fighting gravity with her bum in the air and her head down?????
Loved the dad! Well done mummy

Hard to say without knowing the full story. In a super fast labour, its a good way to slow things down (getting pressure off cervix), and sounds like they weren't sure where the midwife was at the start there. But yes, especially with big bubs and positional issues you wanna be moving as much as you can in labour without tiring yourself out. Stairs, walking etc.

Mine weren't that big, my biggest being 8lb 9oz, but I've not had statches yet! DS's head was 36cm. My biggest so far & not a graze Some people wouldn't admit to that, but I is proud of me As I said, not huge babies, but its more position than size

Yep Clover, it's not so much the size as the shoulder dystocia. My first son was a big bub too (not as big as his brother though) but I had no complications with his birth.

Yes I definitely want to point out small bubs can have this too. I think there is even a study in the cochrane database about it. I know they even state that GD babes are at no higher risk for dystocia than others. Its all a positional thing. So get up, shake your butt and kick that epi to the curb!!!!

DS also turned during labour so was posterior, so for us I definitely think it actually had very little to do with his size, more that he was just in a really awkward position for delivery.
