Since we're talking about rumours - anyone know about the BMid...?

There is a rumour that the BMid (bachelor of midwifery) is being canned at universities because they can make more money if students do the double degree (nursing then midwifery). Anyone know anything? If it's true I am certainly not going to even consider midwifery if that is the case...

Oh lookie its Fi! Hey girl xoxox

DD is looking into BMid atm. I'm not all up with how it goes lately, but according to the Deakin course guide, they offer Bachelor of Nursing on its own, but ALSO Nursing/Mid, Nursing/Bof Public Health (?), Nursing/Applied Science (psych), Nursing/Commerce.
Nothing about BMid on its own.....

I work in Admissions at ACU - I haven't heard anything. It's one of our most popular courses - it's offered as a direct entry undergrad (BMid) or postgraduate (Grad Dip/M Mid). I'll have to put my ear closer to the ground...because I'm thinking of doing this next year too.

I know the biggest issue ACU had with offering the B Mid as a direct entry undergraduate degree was the QLD Nursing Council - who wouldn't recognise it because no nursing. I think UQ ended up sorting all that out in the end (they offer it as well and have much more clout than ACU).
