My Doula used a big strip of material whilst I was in labour. Bugger, I can't remember what it's called, but it's a practice to help baby turn and/or move down. For me it was used with me lying on top of it, with either my Doula or DH standing over me holding both sides of the material, and moving the material side to side underneath me, like a pulley. Hope that makes sense. It basically rotated my hips from side to side to help bub move down. At the time I was complaining of back pain so it might have been to move him out of posterior position too.

ETA: I was lying on my back, not on my belly.

ETA: It's called REBOZO! I found this: Rebozo
