I am pretty sure I was in labour but lost my comfort zone, twice. Not sure why things haven't started up again now though but they hadn't in 15 hours with Noah hence the induction to get things going again with him. Difference is my waters are still intact and the hossy doesn't know I was having these contractions. So here is the story, sorry if things are confusing, on 4 hours sleep...
OMG I am so ****ed off and frustrated and confused!!!! At about 6pm last night I started getting contractions that were 5 minutes apart and 30-40 seconds long, I went for a walk and they got stronger, I came back home, had a glass of water and laid on my left side and continued to count them at 5 mins apart and 30-40 seconds long. The doorbell rings, our guests for our BBQ arrive, I quickly get ready to join everyone because what else am I going to do, I have hours to go anyway and I don't want to ruin anyones night by sending them home. I get out and say hi to everyone. Contractions stop at 7:30pm.
Next thing, 9:30pm, Noah is tired, time to get him down, I lay with him to get him down. On my left side again, hoping the baby will turn from posterior. Contractions start again this time 4 mins apart and 40-50 seconds long and now they have bite. I am talking to Kim on MSN for a fair portion of time, I'm ****ed off because Juz has come in to the room to see how I am and I want people to leave because I put 2 and 2 together that the contractions may have stopped because I wasn't comfortable having so many people around, this was at 11pm and he said that there was only an hour to go and people would leave after that I have a girl vomitting in my toilet, 2 others helping her, everytime I leave the room to grab something I have one drunk one coming up and asking if everything is okay do I need someone with me to which I say no. Kim suggests a walk, I think, great idea, get me away from the stress of being here and make things progress faster as well as maybe getting Noah to sleep in the pram because at 11:30pm he still wasn't asleep from all the noise.
Go for a walk for about 20 minutes, make it back in time to say happy new year to everyone, go back to bed to time contractions, NOTHING!!!! Everyone leaves at 1:30am finally. Juz comes to bed, we fall asleep, I am sure things will ark up again after I fall asleep. Wake up at 6:30am, still pregnant and now massively confused.
I did have a stalled labour with Noah and as my waters had broken with him I was induced after that. Maybe I have a stalled labour thing going on or this was practice, whatever it was I am not impressed.
Sorry gorgeous but I don't think you are going to like this but I think it was pre-labour. But on the good side of things it is your body getting ready. Fingers crossed it doesn't go on for too long and you are holding your little man in your arms in no time at all. Best of luck for your VBAC gorgeous.
Sheesh the last thing you need is a house full of drunk people stressing you out!
I've had pre-labour and it sounds very familiar to what you are having. If the contractions get further apart and shorter than that's what it is. I know it's frustrating BUT look at it like helping you. I bet your cervix is softening and dilating slightly so when the time comes it's less work it has to do
My labours when I had pre-labour (didn't have it with my first) were very quick once the contractions started properly. Did you read my birth story with Ruby? She came only 1 1/2 hours of real contractions. I had a prelabour session in the wee small hours that fizzled out at 5am the same morning and I'd had it most of the week on and off.
I had the first pre labour with her 2 weeks before her EDD too.
Aww sweety That really sucks hun, I really hope that whatever it was did lots to start softening, dilating and generally making things easier for the main event. Hope you get some rest today hun - not long to go.
Thanks everyone, today will be a relaxing day for me for sure, movies and napping.
Both sets of contractions were regular and never stopped when I moved around or laid on my left side and they did get consistantly stronger although they never got closer together. They stayed while walking so my guess is stalled, it is what I had with Noah after all but who knows.
I have read that with a posterior presented bub you have a likelyhood of stalled labour and guess what, Noah was posterior and this one is too. I don't know how true it is though.
I have been having contractions since last night but only started timing them and 5.30am this morning, they are still only around 8 - 10 minutes apart and at time they are between 5-7, but they have definately got more painful!!!!!!! wtf is going on, im so over them i just wish it would speed up or quit it, bubs is in prosterior position too so have been trying evertything to get it turn
