I am 37+ 5 weeks and have high BP so im on tablets for that four times a day and just rest at home. I had a previous c-section and cant be induced, my Dr has decided she wont let me go over 39weeks and has booked me in for a section on the 19th so i have just over a week till the big day. I am trying to avoid another section and all costs so i am resting as much as pos to keep my BP under control and my Dr is going to do a S&S on Monday. I have been having lots of BH or tightenings lately, pressure down low, leaking boobs etc... like everything is getting ready. So my question is how well does the S&S usually work? I was thinking that since i have had some signs of things getting ready and i will be just over 38 weeks when she does it that i might have a chance but i dont really know how well it works....
Any info would be helpful..... Even better if u are psycic and can just tell me whats going to happen lol

My Ob told me when you have PE symptoms your body starts to get ready to give birth in a hurry, our bodies are pretty smart and they know when the baby needs to come out. So you might find a S&S is enough to move things along.
Have you considered acupuncture? Might help too....
I had a S & S on the Thursday and was induced on the Saturday- sorry to say but it did nothing. I have heard from some women it worked for them though. BEst of luck...looking forward to your BA!
Thanks everyone, thats pretty much what I thought. It's all up to our own bodies if they are ready or not.
Junglemum - I thought about Acupuncture but no one in my town does it :-( I am going for a massage tomorrow, my massage lady says she has some ideas like certain oils and pressure points etc...
And as much as im not in the mood at the moment i think i am going to have to try the lots of sex method as well lol... poor hubby the things he has to do ;-p
Worked for me. I had a S&S with DS1 3 days 5 days before due date, things started happening within about 6 hours. With DS2 I had another S&S 2 days before due date and I went into labour 2 days later. SIL had a S&S and didn't work she was induced in the end.
I guess it is all individual but it would be worth a try if you are trying to avoid the C-Section
It worked with Daniel who is now 19 mths old. I had a S&S at 9am, started getting ctx at 10am, got to hospital at 4pm and Daniel arrived at 9:50pm. My only hold up was cervical scar tissue which was forcibly stretched at 7pm. If the BIG stretch had been done with the S&S it would have been a lot shorter lol.

Personally I think these things only really work if your body is ready anyway... but maybe your body is ready? Sounds like it's worth a shot. Good luck!
I had one with DS1 and was in labour the next morning.
However, with DS3 i had one at 37 weeks, did nothing. Another at 39-40 weeks and i was already 3cms dialted, also did nothing. I went into labour at 9 days over.
Bub won't come until s/he is ready to come. I tried absolutely everything to get DS3 to come and nothing worked until i gave up trying.
My OB told me that most women will go into labour 48hrs after S&S.
I had one on tuesday morning (had tightenings straight away) but didnt have DS until thursday morning 46hrs after S&S hehe. She did tell me at the time of the S&S that she would have been happy to break my waters so my cervixs must have been very ready....

i had one with my last ds n my waters broke but never went into labour.. i ended up being induced the next day as i wasnt even getting cx.. but i might be getting one on tuesday again but im the same my body is showing all the signs of it being ready but nothing moving along lol...
