It's always darkest before dawn.

Meaning - there will be a point when the contractions can be coming on top of each other, you all of a sudden don't think you can go on any further. This is GOOD, because it signals TRANSITION and transition means you will be pushing very soon..it's nearly over!

In my last 2 births I requested somebody TOLD me or reminded me I was in transition because its always the part that does my head in....it doesn't last long.
