Ina May's Guide to Childbirth - loads of birth stories if you like that, but the second half is really practical things
Both refer to not calling contractions by that name and calling them something else like openings, rushes etc - as contractions provoke images of pain etc
I'm with you SamiH,
I found Ina May Gaskin's two books to be an amazing help as I prepared for my labour. I was really fearful of labour when I was younger and really loved reading about Ina May's experiences. I found it a really positive book and like you Sami, I really loved thinking of contractions in a more positive light.
Another really positive read for me was "Birthing from within". Don't know the author unfortunately but it had some really inspirational stuff in there.
