I agree, what i meant was $$ for your hospital snacks during ur stay. Unfortunately i had to stay 5nts in hossy.
We bring snacks for labour definitely!!!!
Stupid me forgot the snacks and after 44 hours poor dh was starving and also verry wet from the shower but I was still not letting go of my iron grip on his hand

Probably the most important thing I packed that nobody puts on their list is a pair of plastic thongs or flipflops for wearing inside the shower . Chances are you'll have to share.

But my red powerade was freaking amazing!!! I was so hungry n tired and the powerade really helped cause water was making me feel sick. And then i had cool red vomit cause it was the only thing in my tummy! Haha...

Absolutely everything in my bags were a waist of space!!
I wish I'd only taken undies pads and pj's and a toothbrush and soap.

Other than the basics I also took a pashmina wrap, with labour for DD I had it around me while people came in and out and I didn't feel like flashing my trash all over town and then when feeding I had it over me if I was feeling cool. I tend to wear singlets and then get a bit cold at times. It was also a "nice" bit of home that I used like a blanket because I was in for 5 days.
Also eye mask to block the night lights of other people if you are sharing a room and ear plugs for the same reason. Yummy fragrant skin lotion too because I didn't want to wear perfume but hospitals smell so I wanted to smell pwetty !!! I also took with me the knowledge that if I forgot something, there would always be someone prepared to get it for me and to keep it in perspective!! LIke when I raced around getting stuff for the baby in a frantic rush like the shops would magically close, never to reopen once the baby arrived!!!

When i was pregnant with DS2 i bought this labour of love pack online and it has massage oil, post labour healing tincture and labour calming remedy. They all smell really awesome but never got to use any of it as labour was so quick except for when DH went to take off his shoes and they were pongy so we put a few drops of the healing tincture in his shoes LOL

I made sure to carefully pack both a boy and girl full outfit, as well as a smaller and a larger gender neutral outfit in case bub was bigger or smaller than expected. Just as well, the hospital-provided clothes were AWFUL! We accidentally nicked one of the singlets, as I'd been using it as a spew rag and Scott packed it with the stuff I wanted him to take home

ETA - Powerade. Yes. I went through two or three bottles We bought a bottle each for Scott, me, and PZ (who was my doula, if anyone didn't know) and I ended up stealing Scott's. Would've grabbed PZ's if she hadn't opened it

    Me too! lol

I worked so hard on my labour bag for DD (baby #2)! Had everything I thought I would need. I even bought a special nature sounds cd. My first labour (DS) was fast, 3.5 hours, but I was induced so I thought this one would take longer. I didn't even have time to get the bag out of the car this time, I arrived at the hospital and around 1-2 hours later DD was born.
