My big fight were the VE's, they just love sticking their fingers up there. I said NO VE's with the intention that I would decide when to have them IF I did have them and I was only going to do so if the result would effect MY decision making. The whole "lets just check on how things are going" means "lets see whether or not you're running to my battery hen schedule and if not I'm going to try and make you". My labour was 36 hours, I dilated only 4 cm in the first 34 and then made up the other 6 in the last 2 hours, if I had allowed them to go doing VE's all the time they would have had me in for a c-section at the 20 hour mark. Bub was absolutely fine, I just had issues with my pelvis being hyper mobile and that made it hard to dilate until I put counter pressure on it.
