With DS1 I was at home, it was late afternoon and we had just DTD when I started to get very strong braxton hicks which wouldn't go away so I called the hospital as I was only 31 weeks and they told me to come in. I was in early labour and hypertensive so they kept me in hospital and he was born at 32 weeks.

With DS2 I was at the movies watching Shrek the Third in the afternoon when I started to get a lot of lower back pain. That night after cooking dinner and just about to sit down to it I felt a huge wave of nausea come over me and new it was time!

    Good luck.

I was at home both times. With DD1 I had MIL and SIL over helping to clean up the house as I was booked for induction that day, but I didn't need the induction. With DD2 I started getting irregular contractions while DD1 was up. It didn't step up to active labout until she was fast asleep for the night and when I was up to 5 minutes apart and 1 minute long we called the ILs and headed to the hospital.

What did you do??? Did you call someone for help or did you just leave your trolley and go? A friend and I were talking about this the other day. Do you stay to clean up or make a run for it!!!

    Hi,
With my DS contractions woke me at 2.40am. I got to the hospital at 7.00am and he was born at 10.58am.
With my DD my water broke in the frozen food isle at Woolworths while I was reaching in for the frozen corn. I felt her move and then a gush.
I did a quick check to make sure there was no one around and it wasn't enough to make a puddle. I rang my husband and told him to get home. I only had a few more things to get so I quickly grabbed those and I rang my obstetrician while I was at the checkout, who told me to get to the hospital. My DH still laughs at me because when he got home I was unloading the shopping from the car. He put all the cold stuff away while I packed my bag for hospital.
My water broke just before 5pm and she was born at 12.15am.
A few weeks later my DH was cooking dinner and he said to me there was no frozen corn, and I laughed and said 'Yes there definitly is!!'.
Danni- I agree with you. At first it is embarrasing but now it makes a great story.

With DD was in the middle of the night (2.45am to be exact).. i woke up to feel a trickle, thought i better go to the toilet and check and as i stood up out it came.. my waters broke.
