Thanks Kelly - I am 99.9999% sure that DH will be there - just really if there is an emergency situation.

It felt very sad admitting that you would rather go it alone, but, i suppose heaps of people do it.

Well I don't have a DH, just an D$ckHead... so I'd be asking Kelly again!

Unfortunately due to medical complications I had a c/s with Ned, otherwise Kel was there to help me along!

I would have a girlfriend/s who has given birth before.

Hmmmmm if no DH then maybe just me and the midwife or maybe my oldest friend who is a nurse but - has radically different ideas about birth and childrearing to me - so I would be a bit stuck if that happened to be honest.

My DH was almost going to be away for our DD's birth and I had a very dear friend lined up for any emergencies. If it was something I could plan ahead for - I would still have her! My DH's BF (and DD's Godfather) used to joke he wanted to deliver our babies (he's a doc) and now he's a surgeon he might very well be asked to deliver our next one! (most likely to be a c-sect after the events of DD's birth). But if I can have DH there - noone else gets a look in! He did a FANTASTIC job when I was in labour with DD.
