Feeling very sad for women in my adopted country of Ireland.

It really supports my notion that in countries where women are less empowered in general, it follows that they are less empowered in birth. It's easy to beat them down and talk in terms of what they're "allowed/not allowed" to do, once they've already been beaten down by false religion, domestic violence, sexism, poverty, or whatever.

AIMS are awesome, and I hope they are able to make a positive difference. I have one of their booklets on my shelf from my first birth (in Ireland in 1998)
