At 5.20 she went on a break leaving DH and I on our own. She told DH she was hoping that this would bring bubs on.
She was back by 5.30 and said she thought I was nearly there and grabbed the doctor for an internal. That was performed at 5.45pm where the doctor commented that I had a little to go. I was 9cms and bubs was still high. I thought to my self "Bull dust" but not quite in those words and Tania suggested I get off my knees and turn around onto my back. I told her I needed to push. After one contraction, we flipped me over (no idea how without a crane) and I then started really screaming. I screamed 'I have to push' and just did it, whilst the doctor commented I was only 9cms and bubs was too high and Tania told her she was pretty certain I'd gotten to 10cms just by turning over and that second babies can come from high up.

I zoned out after that screaming my head off telling them to get the baby out and pushing as hard as I could. 'It's burning' I screamed... I knew she was coming NOW!
After 6 minutes of pushing, Allira Maddison was born. Only 8 minutes after my personal deadline, not bad!
I had some pretty cranky after pains, so continued with the gas but held my gorgeous little girl straight away. DH cut the cord, I still sucked the gas, and delivered my placenta within 5 minutes. I didn't scream when having DS, so I apologised heaps to the doctor and Tania. They laughed and told me it was fine and I only screamed when I needed to. I felt like a tool, but it was over and I had my baby girl. Best of all when I got checked for stitches... I hadn't torn!!!! I was thrilled!

The doctor left, Tania did a few little things, and then left DH and I to bond with bubs. I had her on my chest and she crawled up towards my boobs sucking her hands. After about 20 minutes, I breastfed her for the first time. She was a natural and has been ever since. I called my parents and they came up for a quick visit, while DH changed her and they weighed her. She looked so small. 3.52kgs or 7lb12... alot smaller than my 9lb boofer boy and alot quicker. A 10 hour labour.
My placenta was also quite small and I only had a 2 vesseled umbilical cord.

Allira is just PERFECT. She is such an easy going baby. Feeds really well, sleeps so much better than her brother did and is just a gem.

I saw Tania my midwife the next night and asked her if her ears were still ringing. lol I apologised again and she told me not to be silly and that I did a great job. I still feel a little silly that I got so out of control, but meh, I got my baby out of it all.
I was discharged after 48 hours and have been home ever since.
What a fantastic experience! It was everything I had hoped for and more. I feel fantastic! I have had so much energy since giving birth and felt so well I could do anything. I feel like I was never pregnant now, which is a little sad, but also pretty cool because I can do everything I need to do.

Great birth story Niadla! You did fantastically well and you should be proud of yourself! You've also done such a good job of remembering everything in your labour! There are still things that I am remembering about my labour and Kyson's birth. I even had to ask DH after the birth if he cut the cord! I assumed that he did, but I was so busy staring, talking and kissing Kyson at the time that all I remember is hearing the midwife talk about cutting the cord, but never actually seeing it happen!

I know what you mean about suddenly feeling "not pregnant" though. A part of me is sad that I'll never get to feel Kyson's special kicks in my belly, and I sometimes catch myself about to rub my belly. I miss being pregnant, but wouldn't give up being a mummy for anything! Lol!

Hopefully Allira will continue being a nice easy baby for you. I must admit that I have so much respect for you looking after a newborn with a toddler running around as well!
