    Flipping heck! If your Ob. didn't want to do a maternally assisted c-sec surely he would after reading that!

    Crazy crazy story though. I hope her other 6 children weren't watching!

    I read about this a while ago. I do wonder what was "wrong" that the baby wasn't coming down naturally. She'd already had a bunch of kids afterall, i wonder what the hold-up was...? With hossie sections the Ob can often tell you (head turned on side, cord too short/wrapped tightly round body, nuchal foot etc.) but i would guess she was so absorbed in her task she only knew he wasn't coming and she needed to go in and get him. I don't think it'd ever occur to me in labour to do something like this, but if it was my 7th i might have more brain-power than i did with DD!

    NOT a candidate for VBAC with a bread-knife scar on the fundus though!

    Oh, I read this story a while back in "Delivery By Appointment" No Appointment necessary for that mum! I can't believe she survived either. It's amazing!
