Gosh, I only just remembered how bad I got the shakes from the epi... It was so scary!

"While the gas did help slightly, all I could think while sucking on that tube was “when will they give me my epidural?” Where’s the ****ing doctor"

I said the exact same thing, lol!! I was also induced, and had a birth very similar to yours except ended up with the c-section. And a stay in the ICU.... If we ever pluck up the courage to have another baby, I will NOT BE INDUCED!!!!!

Tell me, did your gas mouthpiece have bite marks in it like mine?? I'm also curious as to why the epidural makes you so confused and hazy. Is there something else in it? I had one too and everything is a bit of a blur. Come to think of it, as soon as I touched the gas things got pretty blurry. I assumed it was the gas making my memory so patchy.

Awesome story though. I love the long ones! Lots of detail, very well written. Congratulations on the arrival of little Milly. You did a fantastic job to avoid the c-section, Bravo, mama!

I've only just seen this! Well done on getting through and doing as well as you did. Great birth story. It sucks you didnt get the birth you wanted but dont beat yourself up. You did it despite the obstacles put in place. And Milly being born the same time as Ianto - he must have been there with you

Milly was born in the same room as Leo. It's a special space.

Tashy: Oh wow, really? You know, I very briefly had that thought, but I put it out of my mind because a contraction was coming...

Forshelby: I feel so lucky I managed to avoid the c/s, and I'm happy I at least got one thing from my birth plan "right". That's all it is, luck. And yeah, no f-ing way am I being induced ever again without one hell of a reason!

    What room were you in?
I think it was Room 5 but I'm not completely sure.

I've only just remembered something else that I'm surprised I left out - nearing the end I was given the choice of taking the CTG belt off and having a scalp monitor thingie put in Milly, and I took it I do think it helped in being able to move a bit more and push, but I still feel so awful about it. I remember bawling as I agreed because although they were giving me the usual bull about it just being on the surface, I knew the truth - they were putting a little screw in her head She was bleeding a little from it even a few hours later during a feed

Teni, you probably weren't really given a choice on the scalp monitor. i refused and it was still inserted.
