thanks for that FionaJill, i am exactly 41 weeks today and i NEEDED to hear a story like this (timing).

Letting gravity do the work for you is what i have been counselled and taught about too. So standing up seems to be pretty vital to making birth easier on the mum's body and easier for bub to exit/arrive.

The timing of it all seems amazing, how quick it was once you got to hospital etc.

Did you discuss the placenta hurry up injection with your midwife BEFORE the birth? If you had already said you don't want it, and they gave the injection anyhow, i would be ropeable too.

So glad you got to bond and feed your bub straightaway, raises your chances of successful feeding skyhigh. So lovely you got to hold her straightaway and that your dh cut the cord.

Cannae believe it you have had her and written this up so fast, you super mum you!

Really happy for you, you stuck to your guns, admidst all that pressure and it worked out for you - that's so wonderful.
