17th may i was gettin a really sore back, that night i had my nephews first birthday and i was so uncomfy i couldnt sit down or stand still. I didnt realise but everytime i stood i would sway from side to side. We got home about 930 and i was gettin some pain about 30min apart but only for about 2hrs.
18th may woke up with alot of back pain that coming and going. At about 11 i was talking on msn to some of the ladies off belly belly and asked if it could be contractions even though the pain was only in my back. We decided to go fishing after lunch because we were gettin bored sittin around home. about 5pm we decided to come home because i was gettin contractions 8 min apart for a few hrs and they were gettin stronger. went on to belly belly chat to see wat everyone thought i should do. rang the hop at 630pm they said i wa in labour and to come in when contractions were about 3min apart (cause i live 2min away). went and got tea but we were too excited to eat prop. From 930 i was gettin 2 contractions 2 min apart then 1 back up to 8min then 2 back down at 2min. I called the hosp they said to come in and get checked. At hosp they told me i was 1cm dialated and i could stay or go. i decided to stay.
19th may. they broke my waters at 2am cause my contractions started slowing down after about 1130pm. after they broke my waters the contractions got closer again and more painful so i went on the gas. about 7am they broke my waters again cause there was still more to come. at 830 i was in so much pain and was yelling at the midwife because she turned my gas down and it wasnt doing anything at all for me. asked for a epi then but she told me she woudl wait till 930 to check me again to see if i was ready for a epi. DH decided to inform me that was anther 30 contractions so i started yelling more and they ended up checking me again about 10min later lol. i was only 5cm. they said that bubs head was trying to come faster then my body was ready for so they woudl give me a epi. I got my gas turned right up again for the epi. i was fully out of it i dont remember gettin the epi done, it was like i was looking down watching it happen.
after the epi was all over i felt really good. had some lunch and sat and wait for 2pm, thats when the midwife said i woudl prob start pushing. Started pushing at 155pm. the first few pushed i didnt know wat to do cause i coudlnt feel anything. DH went out to tell his parents in the waiting room that i was ready to push because the midwife said it might take up to 2 hrs for me to push and he thought he had time. basically as soon as he walked out the door i got the push right and she was half out in 2 pushes, they told me to wait and ran out to get DH. after another push her head was fully out. then another 2 pushes her body came out.
she was a bit blue when she came out cause the cord was around her neck. her 2 scores were 8 and 9.
i only had a tiny graze and wanted to get up straight away but i had to wait for the epi to wear off.
stayed in hosp 2 nights.
