WOW thats totally amazing.... I so know how you feel. My 2nd DDs birth was a bit like that. That is why my 3rd was a planned home birth, everyone was freaked out about how quick i would have this baby. I had to have lessons about what to do it i was on my own and we even made to do a drill by my midwife LOL....sure enough from 1st pain to baby on my chest 10mins! SO totally quick and amazing... We know it was less than 10mins as DH called the MW just after 1st pain and then called her to tell her baby was a good colour and cord had been cut. We later looked and it was only 10mins between phone calls. It felt quick but at the same time slow IYKWIM? People worried i wouldnt make it to the hospital.... i wouldnt have made it to the car from our bedroom LOL.
    great story!

Congratulations on your beautiful birth! Well done! Your Harriet's story sounds a lot like my Lucy's story - and she is an absolutely beautiful girl with loads of spunk - always wanting to know what's going on. I would say that's Harriets story too - like Lucy she wasnt' wasting any time and wanted to start her life NOW!!!!
Those precipitous labours feel just like you describe - being hit by a truck!

    Welcome to this world Harriet!

Thank you so much everyone for taking the time to read and comment on Harriet's birth story. It is such a buzz to be able to share these sorts of things!

Nelle - your Si's birth was FULL-ON, yes, I remember! And good advice too, to take it easy, I forget to do that a lot.

Snacks - I have the most special photos of DD and DH doing the crossword together.

Milly - WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Thanks for sharing your story! We are not sure about a third, but if we are blessed with another one I don't know what we'll do.

Flowerchild - thanks for telling me about your DD Lucy. Lovely!

    What a great birth story.

I laughed out loud when I read the part int he lift when you told the midwife to not touch you and then your DH repeated it to her! I can just imagine it!

What a great story, thankyou for sharing!! Love the "DON"T TOUCH ME!!"

My short birth was a long story too

I am scared now, my first was as quick as your first, quite similar too, and my OB said my next will be even quicker , hopefully next time I will make it to term!
