Oh you amazing woman! That was incredible! I loved reading about all those different parts of you chattering away throughout. I'm so glad you had such a brilliant team to support and encourage you and keep "that's it, I'm going to hospital" Bella at bay! And you trying to push her back in?!!!

Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful story Hun. Much love, as always.

Thank you so much everyone for your comments. I teared up reading your incredibly supportive words.

Ladylove and santosha - thank you for appreciating the honesty of this story. I think it is really important to be frank about how hard birth can be for some of us. And also I didn't want anyone to think of me as a hero. I am just as normal and human and capable of doubt as the next woman; and it didn't stop me having a great birth.

What I think I appreciate more than anything tho, is the difference in this post natal period. It isn't clouded by self doubt and what ifs. It is just filled with the joy of soaking up a beautiful little baby, who is a joy to behold. And now not being preoccupied with birth trauma I think that I am even more aware of dd and her needs and my heart has burst open in a new way for her too. God I am so blessed!!!

Wow Bella, you had me in tears reading this (and a few giggles as well)

What a triumph for you, you set the wheels in motion a long time ago to achieve not only a VBAC but a HB and Madeleine's birth is simply awesome, what a beautiful way to enter the world. Sounds like this birth has given you some significant healing from your C-sect and shown you what a strong and courageous woman and mother you are, your support people are winners too!!

I'm so proud of you, you are inspiring!!

What a spectacular read! Thank you so much for sharing Bella! You're one super strong, awesome and amazing woman. You could move mountains!

I love the honesty of those hard times you had in labour, and I related so much to some of them. In my first labour I remember systematically going through the drugs in my mind and discounting them as an option, and I remember thinking a c-sect would have been a better idea in my second labour Thanks for the memories. And also the strength- the way you just keep going along and as your wonderful husband said, there wasn't one contraction you hadn't gotten through yet! What a profound experience this was for you both, such a testament to the power of birth. That it DOES matter. I am sure this birth with live with Jemima too- what a gift you have given her!

I'm so proud of you and privileged to have shared your journey. Thank you. Congratulations!!
