Congratulations! Sounds like a rather wonderful birthWhat a great start to the New Year.
Went in at 7:30am, taken to labour room. OB broke my waters at 8:10am, was 3-4cm dialated. Contractions started but werent very strong so at 8:50am they put the drip in. Solid min apart, min long contractions started from 9:15am. After using the IV pole as leverage and breathing through contractions for what seemed like hours, the nurse checked me at 10:15am and I was 9.5cm dialated so I hopped on the bed, all the while pushing and she rang the OB to get there ASAP. He walked through the door at 10:25am, telling DH to watch what they were doing closely because if we have anymore he would need to know how to deliver the baby at home because I have such quick deliveries, and after 15min/6 pushes out popped Mr Ripley, happy and healthy.
No drugs, no tearing and one very happy Mama.
My OB and the midwife were fantastic, and I cannot fault the hospital one bit even though I was concerned about having to deliver in a public hospital![]()
