Thanks so much ladies! We're doing really well here so far. Seth is a very easy going little guy - eating, sleeping, and pooping like a pro. The girls are very good with their new little brother, and DH is taking great care of all of us on his week off. So much to be thankful for.

The more I read about a brow presentation, the more I realize that we got off very easily! Everyone seems to say that of the three posterior presentations (vertex, face, and brow), brow is pretty much a guaranteed c-section, unless you have a small baby and a large maternal pelvis. Which is, I guess, what we had! Ina May Gaskin also talks about a hip press maneuver, in which pressure is applied to the top of the mothers hips to kind of pivot the bottom out, thus opening the pelvic outlet a little more. I imagine the maneuver my midwife did (pulling apart the ischial spines) had pretty much the same effect. For all her quirks, she does know what she's doing! I'll have to be sure to give her a big thank you!
