The speedy arrival of "the Concord" (Elliott) 21/2/2010

So after huge request heres my "concord's" birth story
So I guess we should start from 2009 where it all began.

May 29th- We had a devestating loss of our angel tiger at 9 weeks and decided to stop TTC for 6 months
18th July- I got up and threw up all day I had this feeling although I hadnt had AF yet I could be pregnant so i tested and what do i know? I'm pregnant!
6 weeks- Had some bleeding but had a scan showing a perfectly healthy baby with a gorgeous heart beat.
16weeks- had some bleeding went for a scan found out we were having a boy! normally they cant tell so early but trust our boy to have his legs spread wide open
28 weeks- We find out he is engaged
    Fast foward to 36 weeks.
Been having BHS for weeks but on the 20th they got particularly nasty and were very low in my back coming and going. At around 7:30 they got very nasty and I posted a thread on BB asking if it was normal to loose your breath with the pain everyone including my own father who is an OB told me its BH's and too relaxed. Around 10:20pm the divine miss Feeb invited me to chat so I did and at around 10:30 Tinks piped up and said " Gosh I hope your not in labour Lauren " Then my BB chat birthing team got into action and at 10:44pm we timed the first contraction which lasted 90 seconds and the next one came 8 minutes later, then another at 10 minutes then another at 9 then another at 5 then things got serious so I called my dad who came over with a fetal monitor and a basic kit of medical goods to check I was alright. I was shocked and nervous and scared I didn't think I could do this but I breathed and kept going This is when Beau took over on chat commentating what was happening at the time. My Father arrived and watched some contractions and said "hun i think they are just Bh's." He timed another and elliotts heart rate dropped 5 and thats when dad said maybe it is the real deal. So dad being my dad said he couldn't give me an internal so he coached DF how to do it. I was 1cm and high dad was puzzled as to what was happening. Then 3 minutes later another contraction that took my breath away and I decided to go in the shower with the fit ball as feeb apparently told DF on chat. I stayed there for 15 minutes when DF did an internal showing I was almost 2cm! So I called my Ob over who is also my God father and he showed up 10 minutes later. He checked elliotts heart rate which was 170 and my blood pressure was perfect too. He did an internal and I was still 2cms and he said to come to the hospital when I was 4cms. So he left to go home and I went back in the shower on the ball where DF wanted to come in and help but i was in agony so i threw a hiking boot at DFs head I continued going and then the pain become so unbearable i let df come in the shower to rub my sore coccyx Dad asked himn to do an internal but i refused i said i wasnt 4cms yet i was too sore for it and to let me be. This was around 11:55? Then i finally agreed and i was almost 4cm already but I said I was comfortable and my contractions were spacing out more so i thought things slowed down alot. Over the next 20 minutes I was in agony I just yelled at DF the whole time and threw things at him like the birth plan haha. I laboured in DF's arms in the shower. Before dad said I cant let you stay here any longer lets go to the hospital so i got dressed got my stuff and dad opens the door and I scream "I NEED TO PUSH"
DF said "WHAT?" dads jaw dropped and i went on my hands and knees and dad instructed DF to cover the floor get water, pegs and lots of towels. DF layed news papers and towels and i took off my pants and Elliotts head was right there. DF passed out for a second and dad instructed me to lean on the couch and I chanted " Tiger, Sam and God give me strength" and DF put his arms between my hands ready too catch. Two pushes and my dad manouvering my head Elliott fell into Beau's arms water sac completley intact. DF passed him through to me all the while crying and saying praise the lord while my dad cried and took the baby off me too burst the sac. We followed my birth plan and waited for the cord to stop pulsating just as i had read about, this was amazing because my father had never done this in his years of being an ob almost 3 minutes later we clamped the cord with pegs and df cut the cord.
We have been feeding 1.5- 2 hourly and he is a champion feeder so far and is a very very sleepy baby.
I am so so proud of myself my fiance and my dad. Who would have thought this pro hospy birther would have the most empowering birth ever! My next children will be homebirths for sure!

    stats:
    Fullname: Elliott Samuel Lincoln
    Weighed:5lb 7 or 2.5kgs
    Length:49cms
    Looks like: Daddy
Total active labour: 132 minutes or 2 hours 12 minutes

A huge thankyou to everyone in BB chat that night I really and truly thankyou for keeping my anvoxious df calm and for picking up I was in labour huges kisses and hugs from my little family xx

Congrats Lauren and Beau! You both did amazingly well.

I feel honoured to have been a part of it. Beau's commentary was awesome! I can't believe he had time to update us AND be with you at the same time.

...and Lauren, yeah I think you were in labour
