I'm a bit late reading this but wanted to say welcome to your new little man and congratulations to you. I also laboured, with my daughter, for a long time and had a late epidural which for me worked too efficiently as I couldn't even turn my ankles. I too had postpartum regrets about choosing pain relief as it actually prolonged my labour immensely and didn't like myself for that for a good while. This may or may not be something you can relate to but what helped me through those feelings were knowing I'd laboured many hours without anything but a heat pack before getting the epi and so I still got to experience a natural labour for a good part of the journey.
