Cows milk is fine to use in cereals & cooking from about 9 months, as well as other dairy products, but it shouldn't be their main milk drink. I'd stick with the formula until 12 months.

we switched to cows milk at 11 months as my DD refused formula and would only drink cows.

i asked my MCHN and said dont water it down, just straight and as long as she isnt vomiting or getting runny poo or consitpated then stick to it

she was on 3 bottles a day still till 16 months then she self weaned off the lunch bottle.

so id say hold off for a month or so.

Stick with the formula. I dont really think it is much more expensive than cows milk when you look at the amount in mls. Two months sounds like a short amount of time but when you think about it, it is a fifth of her entire life so far!

When I start back at work 1 day a week in june when DS is 11 months old he will be having cows milk in a sippy cup and the rest of milk will be BF, my MCHN actually suggested this rather than introducing formula for such a short time.

I started DS on cows milk at 9 months on his cereal and about 10 months in his bottles and he had no problms at all. No vomiting, no unusual poos or anything. Do what you feel comfortable with and if it agrees with him, why not?

Introducing cows milk too early can lead to allergies and digestion issues. I know a little boy who was switched too early and suffered from severe eczema. He'd scratch himself so much it would bleed.

Thanks for your advice, i know for some there maybe a reaction but as he has already had it for awhile i am sure he will be fine, but in saying that i just bought a new tin of formula which lasts 3 weeks or so, in which time he will be over 11 months so i will look at it then.
    Thanks gain..
