GP has prescribed it for me but she didn't really seem to know much about it. She also said I didn't really seem depressed :/ She had "known" me for all of 2 minutes lol!Anyway...
I've called Dr Rodney Whyte to check it was safe and they said its OK for bub but was wondering if anyone has had experience with it and if it helped? Any side effects?
Yes, I've been on it for about a month. The first few days were pretty foggy for a couple of hours, and on the second day I felt a bit agitated. But by day 3 I didn't have any side effects. Rodney confirmed for me that it was fine to take whilst bfing.
It's an SSRI, I do know someone on it that is breastfeeding. But very odd for a dr just to prescribe it. Do yourself a favour and either get a referral to a psychiatrist as they are more experienced with prescribing these meds. Or see a GP who has interest in/experience with mental health.
Oops. Thats what happens when you fall asleep halfway through posting lol.
She was originally going to prescribe zoloft but I asked if it was safe and she didnt think so so she went looking for something safer.
Having looked into it since getting home turns out zoloft was fine. But anyway..
She just read out what the data sheet said and said if I see any signs of withdrawl in DD to come back.

: wrong thread lol
4 days in and I feel like death. Killer headache, constant on the verge of throwing up nausea, muscles and joints are aching, terrible sleep last night.
DD was very sleepy and cranky yesterday but she is also teething so could just be that.
Im on the lowest dose. She did warn me there would be side effects but they should pass fairly quickly. Feeling a lot better since this morning. Still nauseas but the headache is gone. Still sweating like mad though. Gross.
DD is her normal happy alert self today. Must have just been a sleepy day.
Perhaps try taking it at night after dinner if you are taking it in the morning. And it might be worthwhile calling Rodney again. He was great with advice when Lexapro wasn't working for me.
I'm on Pristiq and its much better than Lexapro for me. Less side effects and a much clearer head.
I'd say see another GP if you can.
Urgh. Dont say that Eenee. Lol
Fl- Ill see if it settles first. Today was a lot better. I was advised to take it in the morning because it is known to cause insomnia. Also I cosleep most nights so I want to be aware of whats around me.
I felt ok yesterday. I seem to wake up feeling crappy (headache and nausea) but after I take my tablet I come good. I was very tired all day though.
I woke up at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep for ages. Now I'm really sore and achy.
