I think someone started a similar thread a couple of months ago? I had a reduction more than 10 years ago, probably close to 15. When I had Amy, every single person in the (Private) Hospital I was in reminded me that I had a reduction and my milk may not come in. It did come in on day 4 and I was syringing the colustrum before that. I also had an emergency C/S so that didn’t help. Amy’s first feed after the c/s turned out the be the best one she would ever have. Amy was non interested in bf after she was given formula from a bottle which was supposed to supplement my milk but virtually replaced it before I left hospital 6 days later. I expressed for 3 weeks before giving up as I only had about 20ml each time. I am disappointed but am thankful that DH all the night feeds so there was a positive. They are not meant to detach the nipple and the milk ducts are supposed to still be connected in the surgery but they did tell me that there was a chance that I couldn’t bf – a chance I was willing to take at the time but looking back now I don’t know if I regret the surgery. I am going to be researching how to have a good supply next time as I am determined, very determined to bf with #2.
