I've not yet tasted an energy drink & have never really been interested, but I'm thinking about it today. I've got around 12 hours driving to do & think I might need it. Already been driving for 2 days.
But DD. I always refused due to breastfeeding, now I don't know what to do. She hasn't been having any feeds through the day coz we've been driving. But I'll probably more be thinking of having one later in the arvo, which might end up being closer to a feed that I want.
Would you do it? Anyone know how long before they'd be out of your system?
I would drink alcohol & feel more comfortable feeding her than after an energy drink...
What concerns you about the energy drink? I guess it's the caffeine, which does have a long half life, but am I reading that your baby is 1 now? I don't think the concern is huge. But with 3 kids I imagine you will have many breaks in your ttip (mummy, I need the toilet....) Maybe you won't really need them?
Could you give her a feed before you have it and then wait a few hours afterwards? I'm not sure how long but most of the drinks are only in a small can.
12 hours is a long time! Lol - Do you have the wiggles on repeat *shudder*?
To be perfectly honest I think the risks in breastmilk are minimal for a baby that age. Kinda concerned you think you might drink enough to induce a heart attack when you are driving your 4 kids in a car - don't do that! However, I am thinking that a couple of drinks are OK
Glad you didn't have them, they have warnings on them about having them while pregnant. Gatorade would be ok if you need a pick me up and a good multi vitamin.
