Not quite sure how to word some of this but I've got a few things happening with my nipples after feeding. (mainly on my left side)
I express at school (5 days a week - I aim for 2-3 times a day) for DS - and sometimes these things happen after expressing as well as feeding. I usually have no trouble expressing enough for DS's CC needs the following day. I feed (BF) at nights and over the weekend - no bottles then.
DS has a couple of bottom teeth but no top teeth as yet. He's 8.5 months old currently and we've had no issues until now with feeding. I really really don't want to even have to think about FF.
- my left nipple seem to be peeling (like skin peeling after sunburn) and I'm not quite sure why this is happening. Only just started happening in the past couple of days.
- I seem to have a graze or a crack developing on my left nipple (both at the edge top left side and at the top edge) and not sure how to work around this. And I have a slight graze happening on the inside part of my right nipple. The thing that's confusing me is that it's happening on the side where his teeth aren't when feeding.
- sometimes after feeding my left nipple particularly is a little bit ouchy feeling. even though DS has released the nipple nicely and appears to be positioned nicely at the time
I vary a little with feeding laying down and the cradle hold.
Should I be leaving off expressing (except for comfort) on my left side until things heal up more or just expressing like normal?
I don't know if some of what's happening on my left side is thrush or not? I'm not quite sure what this would look like. DS had a bit of white stuff at the sides of his mouth the other day but I'm not sure if this was thrush or just left over milk/food. I don't think it was that long after feeding (of some sort) when I noticed (or DS had been chewing on paper - trying to avoid him doing this but... you know how it goes)

so really have to make sure I've got enough milk for the following day and then some. might have to do a bit of expressing over the weekend as well.
