Netix that is totally normal for littlies. And you will find stages where they do it again too. You are not inadequate. If you didn't have enough milk he'd let you know, and not by feeding regularly. No need to top up with formula, all that will do is decrease your production.

He is young, so they feed regularly to increase your supply. And as they go through different milestones they will feed regularly to increase your supply to their requirements. Unless you have a medical issue with bf, your bb will do their job and provide exactly what your DS needs.

My DS fed 2 hourly during the day and 3 hourly overnight for 3 months. Then 3 hourly during day at least for 6 months. He dropped down to 4 feeds a day just before he turned 12 months. And yet today he has been feeding 6 times, but I think he's going through a growth spurt

It is very taxing on your time, especially in the early days. But it does get better. Just remember that you are giving him everything he needs, so you are definately not inadequate.
