Her nose may be a bit blocked, or her ears, making it uncomfortable to lie down. Try football hold on that bb. And a vaporiser!

No poos for 11 days now. DS seems fine and can have 4-7 days between poos. Normal? When should I be concerned?
1 week until he is 6 months old. Getting a little anxious about introducing solids, silly really, I was the same with DD.

Dusty we have started going 4 days between poos here too. The farting warm up to the poo is dreadful!!!
Have you tried a little infants friend? I found that sometimes encouraged dd a little.
Although someone else will probably remember exactly how long is ok between poos for a completely bf baby.
On a different note, does anyone know if your milk drops when pregnant? Dd seems to self weaning, like she still loves it but doesn't demand it all the time now and when she drinks it doesn't seem like she is getting much?
Yep, breastmilk supply often drops during pregnancy. Some Mums and bubs find they can continue through the pregnancy, but other times one or the other or both just can't continue.
I found with DD that if she had less feeds on one day, it was really hard the next day to get back to the previous level.
There is a thread somewhere on breastfeeding through pregnancy. There are a few BBers doing it at the moment so maybe worth bumping.

On a more serious note I am finding over the past week or so many people are making comments about when am I going to wean her. It feels a bit "pressured". Not sure if that's the right word.. But it's almost like I get the feeling that people think 6 months is the deadline so I should be getting ready for that. We haven't started solids yet ;)
Yay Jo! Wonderful!! The weaning questions are so common around 6 months. Have a look at the baby spoons you buy from supermarkets etc - they are called "weaning spoons"!

Just a question, is it normal to have a burning sensation after finished feeding?
DD is 9 weeks and we have had latch issues earlier and supply dropping due to us nothing having colds, and this sensation has started after that.
Joeve - yay for 5 months! I'd tell people when DD can ask for milkies then I'll wean her!! That should shut them up!

somehow I have no idea how I have a massive scratch right down the center of my nipple =(. I noticed it last night when I took my bra off, so was no where near Spock, so don't know if she did bite me at some point...
so I guess ebm on it?
Finally, a use for all my maternity clothes that have breastfeeding access! Who knew I'd have a whole wardrobe for breastfeeding while pg. Lol
Since I only ever wore these while pg, I often wondered what the point was allowing access afterwards.
It's weird that people are so nosey! It's not like it's any if their business you are right :)

Tried to sneak the shield off during feed, DS was just mouthing the nipple and got annoyed. I don't think I can teach him how to attach again now, he's so used to (lazy) feeding with the shield. Mind you if I wasn't so sleep deprived I'd probably have more patience and resilience to try. Someone mentioned to me yesterday they fed their DD with a shield until 5.5 months when she actually weaned herself off it, but she noticed her DD was much more settled afterwards and said that some people say the shield means they swallow too much air while feeding which can upset tummy? But she also said she started solids around the same time so it could have been that or also just coincidence.
We will do BLS so haven't started solids yet either. Though I am tempted to maybe try a mix with some purée to see if that helps him sleep.... argh so hard to know what might work. For reference. He rarely does one 3 hr stint during the night, rest are always shorter and he sometimes wakes hourly all night. So usually he's up at least 4 times, sometimes up to 7-8, but I only feed him twice overnight and resettle the other times.
Urgh having one of those weeks where I hate breastfeeding and just want to give up

Wow great effort Jennifer , bf and ff 50/50 working really well for us physically I feel much better and I still get to bf when she is home and she has a few formula bottles at daycare

I have been fairly comfortable in using lam method for contraception until my first period but am positive that I don't want another pg, at least for now.
What method s are available? Is there a summary of methods compatible with bfing somewhere?

Good qn, HotI. My CM is returning and bub is sleeping for 8-10 hr stretches through the night. Took 8 mths after DD2, but she fed more during the night. DP keeps threatening to get a vasectomy and I'm not quite ready to call it quits in the baby making dept.
I don't want to get a Mirena but if that's the alternative, I'll do it.
This tandem feeding thing is going better than I expected. I'm dropping DD2's nap time bf - which shouldn't be hard. Two days she's away from me at preschool or with the nanny and she doesn't mind. She has the nanny one other day (I can just stay in my office) and DP can do the two weekend ones. Should only be a few tantrums away from being down to morning and night. ;)
DD3 has put on heaps of weight and has collected a few rolls. She's slowing down now (in the pooing dept too - yippee!) and has no bfs overnight (double yippee). Still has about 6-8 bfs a day.
Hello again team, I'm back after a seven or so month break, nursing DD2 who is not quite three days old. Pain and blister issues again, latch seems good since I tried baby led attachment and generally feeding in a reclining position so hopefully the damage clears quickly thus the pain.
Welcome back Ladylove. I had a break from breastfeeding of about 4 months before this little one. She needs a bit of help to feed, i need both hands, but all signs are that she getting enough milk. I am doing a bf and sleep diary for a day or two to see where she is at now.
Jen, my DD had a big growth spurt after DS was born, all that newborn milk helped her grow!
I am pretty sure we are finished at 3 bubbas. My body is struggling and i don't think it would cope with another pregnancy. DH has talked about getting a vasectomy, but hasn't made any moves to find out how. I have a poor history of avoiding pregnancy (whilst breastfeeding), and so want something with low failure rate. I won't get an IUD, but am considering the implanon.
Dh wants a vasectomy and for some reason I hate the idea. It's not like I'm hell bent on more babies- i'm pretty noncommittal actually - but because it took so long to conceive DD then the early miscarriage last year, I feel like a vasectomy is somehow a punch in the face of the universe.
So my milk is in and geez it hurts! DD2 barely makes a dent in my supply at the moment as she, like DD1 did, only takes one side per feed. She cannot handle my monster flow and constantly comes off gagging and spluttering even if I lie down feeding or express a tiny bit first.
I've been thinking about contraception too. We are both certain that we don't want any more babies, so this time is different to last time. I'm on the mini pill like last time, but with DD I didn't care if it didn't work because we wanted another one anyway. This time I'm more worried about it not working.
I know chances are it won't happen. I didn't get AF back until DD was 18 months old and DS still feeds very regularly day and night so the odds are with me but I just keep thinking "what if?" It's dampened the mood a few times unfortunately.
We agree that a vasectomy is probably the way to go, but DH is very squeamish about it and doesn't want to talk about it. Neither of us like the mirena and I'm a huge sook so don't want the implanon lol.
does the implanon hurt going in? what other issues are there with it?
i'm not keen on any IUD implants, but can deal with a needle in my arm.
They give you a local anaesthetic first so it's not painful. I bled heavily and constantly with it and ended up having it removed.

HotI do you guys have PHI? DH got the snip last year. Quick and simple. Relatively painless. Relatively ;) it was really straightforward process and procedure too. Can provide more info if anyone wants.
The mini pill messed me up emotionally after DD. We knew we'd have another soon so we stopped it after only a month or so. After DS1 we wanted to take it a bit slower so we used mostly the rhythm method, LAM and then condoms when it was the wrong time of month. After DS2, DH basically waited til he was 6mths and then booked himself in.
I got the implanon in at 12 months PP (no AF, not sure if that makes a difference). I didn't even feel it go in. I bruised pretty badly, but now there's just a little faint scar. No bleeding, no side effects, aside from a but of moodiness for the first month, and some weight gain. All in all I really like it, I was on the mini pill before that.
So not sure if this is 'normal' as DD2's feeding behaviour is entirely different to DD's at the same age... DD2 is booby hungry. At night she feeds every 2 hours, maybe one 3 hourly stint, and sometimes 1.5 hourly. During the day it tends to be 3 hourly and more often than not I have to wake her during the day to feed. This is all fair enough, normal for a 10 day old baby.
This time around I have - seem to have an oversupply of milk (still early days in terms of supply settling, I know) but also a fierce fast flow. What weirds me out is DD2 constantly gags and sputters, sometimes it takes a moment for her to find her breath when this happens- it is as though she holds her breath momentarily. She will drink a lot, even after sputtering etc, and yet my breasts never seem to drain. She could go on drinking off one side forever it seems and I feel so many let downs there seems to be a constant fast flow/full tank. Sometimes she gets gassy - she burps, farts, writhes, but still wants more even when her tum looks conspicuously full and even a tad bloated. Then she will eventually fall asleep and take herself off. I don't generally offer the other side as she never seems to finish the first and I take the falling asleep as a sign she has had enough as she has a good suck swallow action going on etc.
Yet 20-40 mins later she will often wake and demand more. I thought maybe I should be offering side 2 after all at the first sitting but she rarely takes it on account of being asleep. Sometimes she seems 'angry' and agitated when she wakes up shortly after as though uncomfortable and wants to comfort suck to get things moving through her gut but as i said she is good at bringing up burps already. Could my voluminous fast flow be upsetting her tum? I already feed reclining or lying flat but it makes no difference. Tried block feeding last night but no difference. Tried expressing before a feed but zilch. I thought I had fast flow with DD but this takes it to another level!
Ladylove - same issue here. Although DS2 still feeds the same 2 hour stretches overnight, it took 3 days of block feeding to get over the agitation, writhing etc. He was looking to feed again within an hour to settle his sore tummy from too much mumma milk. Lactose overload was what the LC said. I could feed all day / night off 1 boob. It's like a pack of Tim tams that never runs out ;-)
Candy so you found block feeding worked? I tried just one night, almost every feed off same side but still the gagging then windy unsettled behaviour. Plus the abandoned breast was like a rock by morning,
