that's probably plenty. It should be ok to follow her lead. many babies at this age will only have 4-6 feeds. The amount they take per feed can vary a great deal from baby to baby. they all generally get abou tthe same amount, but some will take it in 4 feeds and others in 12.

Mines one of those babies that take it in 12. Though she is more interested in biting my nipple than feeding, she still wants to be attached all day lol. I must admit Isadora that sometimes wonder if dd is losing interest, she wants to be attached but then she just fusses when I do attach her. But as this is the longest I have breastfed for and I clearly remember my boys going through fussy periods with their bottles I am taking it as a stage and she'll be interested again.

Thanks for your reassuring words as usual MadB

Mumof2 - Thats exactly how I feel. Do they just lose interest? My MIL tells me that my DH was a real booby baby and only really wanted breastmilk and didnt care for food, so she fed him till 2. But I feel like my baby prefers solids at the moment. She has upped her solids to 3 times per day and has little finger food snacks now and then. And she has demanded this so I have followed suit. Its hard to know hey!!!

Hey guys, first time posting in here

Isadora, that is our exact routine with breastfeeding. DS seems quite content with the amount he gets, he does have solids twice daily and snacks on fruit or bikkies occasionally.

DS won't feed to sleep, he has his night feed at around 6:00 then I just lay him down with his teddy, sing him a song then he usually puts himself to sleep. I used to love it when he fell asleep on the boob, was the cutest thing!!

    Welcome Eza!

I just asked the question on a fb breastfeeding page and people are questioning why so many solids at this age. Is it really too much to have 3 solids meals at 7 months? I am just following her lead and she gets antsy until she gets it.

Most 7 month olds probably wouldn't be having that much, no. It can be an issue if you're pushing the solids over milk (at this age they really need the milk more). But I think you're best qualified to judge whether it's ok or not. If you feel she needs more milk, you could try cutting back on food (though it doesn't sound like she'd be too happy with that )
DD's a little older than your DD2 and she might eat maybe 1 tablespoon of food per day (she snacks whenever I do, but doesn't really consume much). At this age DS would have been having considerably more than that (though still not a great deal).

I have thought about cutting back, but I doubt she would allow it as she cries when I am 5 mins late with offering it to her haha! I know my first DD was loving her milk at this age, she definately didnt have this much, not even at 12 months if I can remember correctly! I think this little one is just different...bit of a foodie.

Never even thought of doing something for myself. But now that you mentioned it I might just. I think I deserve it especially after tonight when dd bit me really hard on the nipple and I wasn't expecting it and yelped and she laughed the little poo. Lol
