Yep!
They will often continue on only a few feeds per day for quite some time. And sometimes they may increase their feeds again. Continuing through toddlerhood is great - perfect food for sick kids and excellent way to calm the big meltdowns.

I hit 14 months today, and snugglebug is almost weaned, we're down to one or two feeds a day. Nowadays when he's thirsty he either tries to steal my coffee cup (if he gets it, yes, he drinks it ... gah!) or if I'm holding him, he looks down my top and then starts fishing around in there, which is pretty funny. So we give him a sippy cup with cow's milk instead.

But when he first wakes up, its boobies or nothing

I've lost all my baby weight and would like to go back to not having to eat ridiculous amounts of food each day so weaning does look good, I expect we only have a week or two left of breastfeeding before its all over, for good, since I'm not having any more babies.

If I don't eat like a horse, I lose weight like you wouldn't believe. I have one of those fast metabolisms ...

With my first, I lost an incredible amount of weight to the point I couldn't even buy clothes that fit, I was just too small and looked awful with all the bones sticking out everywhere. Turns out that eating your own bodyweight in food every day stops that from happening

I was the same RE. I used to have to eat more while bfing and I was still underweight. You should have seen how much I ate when I was pg and bfing at the same time

Jealous cos I could really lose about 40kgs....

While I'm not eating an amazing amount (nor am I super skinny), I am lucky as it has been very easy to lose some unwanted kg's while BF'ing... at one stage it was almost a straight swap tehehe... lost 10kg and DD weighed 10kg! Lol.

Thanks girls for the input. We will keep plodding away. She lets me know when she wants her milk so I am just feeding on demand these days.

DD is 7 months today. We've still going and for so much longer than I ever thought we'd last.

I think I'm going to have to leave you guys soon for a bit - DS hasn't have a BF since about 2:30am on Monday - currently weaning because I can't stand the pain of him attaching (mainly due to pregnancy). We've made it to nearly 26mths of BFing. My original goal was 2yrs and then see how things went. Will be back again in April more than likely when Freckle makes an appearance (due late April).

I am going through exactly the same thing with dd (7 months) my nipples are soooo sore at the moment. I have no idea why.

Hi Ladies

AF has decided not to show this month (came back June and have had 3 regular cycles. I did a test yesterday and it came up Negative. DS has been feeding alot more the last few weeks, would that affect my cycles? It's driving my nuts!
