Thought I might pop in here and join in. DD3 is 12 days old and has taken to the breast like a champ. I bf DD1 until 6 months and dd2 until almost 11 months, Im hoping to get to 12 months this time but Im happy to keep going as long as its working for both of us, I have much longer off from work this time which will help. Once again we both have thrush despite taking probiotics and not having antibiotics this time, but at least I know how to get on top of it this time round
I cant stand using a drape or cover, all my babies fussed if I tried and I would get hot. Their heads cover most of the breast anyway! Im more worried about my belly hanging out than my bb's on display, I often wear my belly band so I can keep my tummy covered and keep warm on cooler days as 99% of the time I prefer to pull my top up.
Im also a shopper who breastfeeds while I continue to browse, Id get bored sitting in the shops feeding so I just keep going

I can't even master the discreet approach so I don't bother... Putting a shawl or cloth over my shoulder just impedes my own vision so I can't see what I'm doing- unclipping the bra, pulling up/down my shirt then attaching bub. Then I can't seem to hide the nipple anyway because I'm moving the cloth around trying to see what I'm doing. So I don't bother. I just make sure bub's head is in front of my nipple when I pop it out lol.

How do you define discreet - if the passers-by are not getting squirted then that'll do!

How are you managing bfing and the older two? Is he a quick feeder?

Heck I've sprayed in public! Oops, but when they come off during letdown... As for discrete? What is dis-crete? lol I wear a singlet under my T-shirt if I'm not in a bf top, but that's only for my own comfort (I hate my tummy). Even in a bf top I pull the boob out of the hole, can't manage it otherwise. I don't wear a cloth over my head to eat - I reckon it's the toilet issue again (I don't eat in the toilet, why should baby).

I've sprayed in public heaps haha my letdown is terrifying this time! I was once feeding DD2 on a park bench while DP was playing with DD1 on the playground and yelled out for him to come check out the impressive puddle a good couple of metres from where we were actually sitting lol.

Jen thanks for the welcome. So ar so good, my DH is still home or another week then we'll have to find our flow.
I seem to only spray my DD mainly up the nose when she is attatching poor thing!

Sounds like you've had the support you needed to get off to a good start, SR.
I'm not spraying much because DD2 gets on, gulps everything down as fast as is humanly possible and only comes up for air when it's all gone! I guess once she starts to get distracted it might be different.
I haven't done any expressing yet and for my work times I will have our nanny bring DD2 to me to bf. that will probably change as she gets older, but I'm literally going with the flow this time. While I can be flexible I'd prefer not to add another task. Especially since the blocked ducts seem to have stayed away for a few weeks. Fx it stays that way!

Just wondering when u girls have finally been able to sleep on your stomach? I used to always fall asleep on stomach but obviously havent been since being pregnant... I really wish I could now but my BBs are still quite full during the night and they are just too hard to be comfrotable sleeping on! Hoping someone will be able to enlighten Me to when this will happen? Lol
It's the only time of day I'm engorged and I think it's cuz little man is still working out his night feeds (they range from 1-3am). I also always express in the morning so not sure if this is adding to the engorgement issue for sleeping?

P.s this might be a stupid question but would sleeping on your chest stop ur breast filling as min cuz they are being squished?

It took me a year or more to be comfortable on my front again - but I think it is different for everyone. Squishing will be uncomfortable - and that is actually a good thing, since sleeping on full breasts would probably also lead to blocked ducts. It won't stop them from filling - that's driven by when they are emptied.

I can lay on my front for short periods - I think your boobs normally settle down a bit somewhere around 3-4 months. I still can't have my chiro do my upper back adjustments on my front though, but that involves placing additional pressure on my spine between my shoulder blades. So we use alternative methods. But stomach sleeping I think would be out for a while longer yet as laying on my stomach gets uncomfortable after about 10-15 mintues

I couldn't lie on my front for sure for at least 3 months. After that I can a bit more. But usually early in the morn I can't. Too engorged.

So I'm curious and like to hear others thoughts on this but in my mother group today a couple of the mothers who are FF but offering a small amount of EBM said that their babies are rejecting the EBM- even though it's in the same bottle, same teat etc. is this weird?

it's most likely just a question of what they're used to. if they mixed the ebm with formula the baby would probably take it. i guess.
