Remind me why I am breastfeeding?! Everything is against us at the moment, I have people telling me left right and centre to chuck it in and little miss has gnawed one of my nipples. Just having an off day, soooooo tired!!

We have many days and nights like the one you are having Isadora X
Have had my fair share this week.
It does get easier though, well, when we think we have our little munchkins figured out, they go and change the rules on us!
just be patient with what works for you and bub, don't stress over what everyone else is suggesting, keep in the advise needed and just put the rest to the back of your head.
When I have a crazy off day, I start back at the basics and work my way through. Basic is always good XXX
Hope your day getts better hun X 'MWAH'

Oh Isadora, Im sorry I didnt see this earlier This will pass, hun. Try your best to ignore those so called well meaning people, you are giving your DD such a special gift that noone else can provide her with. Its a hurdle in the journey and I am sure that you will give it everything you have to get past it! Just remember all those wonderful things that your baby girl is getting from you. Hang in there

How are you doing today Is? How's that nipple?
Why on earth does anyone else care? Has your DD asked you to quit? Because aside from you, hers is really the only opinion that counts.

I am in hospital for the day tomorrow for surgery. Starting to get nervous about whether this is going to affect my supply. I've run out of my fenugreek tea and the two health food shops I went to are all out. So I am guzzling water like crazy. Bub has only fed three times so far today and has just slept and slept. Whats the bet tomorrow she will want to feed feed feed and I will be unavailable. I tried expressing again with a medela pump, no go. DH will have to give her formula if I am not available to her. Ahhhh! Wish me luck.

You need to remember that whatever happens to your supply is fixable with a day or two of frequent feeding. You are well past the stage where a missed feed or two will cause a permanent drop.
But - take your pump to the hospital, because exploda-boobies won't help your recovery from the surgery!

All done girls. I fed straight after, so she missed one feed while I was in surgery and DH just gave her a bottle of formula. The Dr advised me that there was no need to pump and dump and he was mindful of me breastfeeding so used drugs that wouldnt harm bub. Bit sore on the tum, but just putting a pillow there when she feeds.

I am having issues with blocked ducts again. My right breast seems to occasionally like to just block up for no apparant reason. At least 1/4 of that side is all hard and lumpy. I have got dd to feed off that side for the last 2 feeds and she hasn't budged it. Now my other side is filling up because I am so busy trying to drain the right one. It is so painful to touch and feeding off it really hurts which is kind of disappointing because my right side is generally the good side to feed off... now both sides are agony. It's day like this I wonder why I am still doing this.

My lefty used to do that a lot. Have you tried feedign on all fours? Also, Ithink lecithin is supposed to hlep and some physios do special ultrasound therapy or else remedial massage to help with drainage.

How exactly would I feed on all fours??? DD has a bad latch normally, would she be able to manage that?? I think I may have to talk to my doc about lecithin because it keeps happening fairly regularly. I've heard about those physio's. None will be open here until Monday though... I am hoping it clears by then.
